One of our favorites in FLX! Very knowledgeable staff who made the experience very nice. Most of the better vineyards have a no limo policy so don't be fooled by their reviews. Roses (Cab Franc and Pinot Noir) were both very good. Great sparkling rose. Rieslings are great too.
This was the third of four wineries we tried. It sounded like it used the most organic/natural practices of the three. (We had really wanted to go to Bloomer Creek but realized they were open only one day a week.) The setup is not fancy, just a small building for the tasting room, no view or anything. We made an online reservation, and we were the only three there. At first the server was standoffish, but she quickly warmed up and gave us very helpful guidance on which wines to select for our flights. We loved all of the wines we tasted, especially the natural-yeast Riesling. They had some lesser-known German reds that were rich and delicious as well. All of the wines we had were interesting, and we all bought some to take home. Red Tail Ridge is definitely on my repeat-visit list.
Absolutely awful. The staff was too consumed in playing games on the computer to let us have a tasting and we were told we had to sit outside outside even though the inside was empty. We travel from Florida every year and this is one of our favorite places on the wine trail but we will never be back and will spread the word to our friends to never make a visit. Very unfortunate.
Our host was very knowledgeable and engaging. $10 bought 5 rather small tastings in a plain Jane facility. We enjoyed our visit but there are better wineries to stop at.
This was the first winery I visited in the Finger Lakes that actually had a vineyard, and a beautiful vineyard. The tasting was super quick and informative (you can choose 5 wines from a list). I personally loved the Dornfelder, but they had a lot of unique wines that I’ve never tried before which I really appreciated.
